Part of the book series: The Academy of International Business ((AIB))

Abstract

During the past few years, the real-estate industry, like most other sectors, has witnessed increased Internet-based marketing activities (De la Torre and Moxon, 2001). This is evident in the emergence of online realtors and real-estate websites in the USA, where 98 per cent of properties are reportedly marketed online (e-first, July 2000), and most other industrialized economies, including Canada (for example, http://www.reic.ca,OttawaHomes.com, http://www.ottawarealestate.org) and the UK (for example, propertyfind.co.uk, asserta.co.uk).
