Abstract
Impact. The word suggests a moment. A sliver of time so fine that it can only be captured by the fastest shutter speed. The beads of sweat flying off a boxer’s face as he takes an upper-cut on the chin … the bowed strings of a racquet as they flatten a tennis ball at the moment of contact … or the sublime atomic violence of a demolition ball as it swings into the corner of an unloved tower block.
