Abstract

In this chapter I expand on what was said about discourses in Chapter 1, particularly in terms of relevant linguistic features, then move on to two detailed examples of interpretive ‘discourse identification’. This is with a view to enabling those investigating discourse from a critical or poststructuralist perspective to interpretively identify, name and discuss the significance and workings of discourses in their own research.
