Abstract
In this chapter I compare each individual linguistic score against age, in order to build up an idea of correlations which may exist at this level. As described in chapter 3, PHOVAR and SSSCOR are composite index scores, made up of the combined results for the individual phonological and morpho-phonological variables for each individual respondent. Before examining these composite indices against the various sociological variables, it will be useful to build up an idea of how each of the individual phonological scores pattern with AGE, in order to see if they are all in a sense ‘measuring the same thing’. The following are the individual scores which make up PHOVAR.
