Abstract
Cambodia’s statistical system is undergoing reconstructing, starting in the early 1990s. The government of Cambodia, with the help of bilateral and multilateral donors, collects statistical data to monitor the country’s development and evaluate the implementation of development policies based on the Rectangular Strategy, National Strategic Development Plan, and the Cambodia Millennium Development Goals. In this explanatory note, we describe Cambodia’s current statistical system, provide an overview of the statistics used in the analyses in Chapter 5, and make a few comments regarding the use of this data.
