Transitions in Trouble: Fragmentation, Inclusion and Marginalisation



Young people’s transitions are in trouble. The growth of youth unemployment, a dearth of adequate training schemes and cuts in social security have all meant that young people leave full-time education facing an uncertain future. At best, young people’s foothold in the job market seems precarious. For many it is simply non-existent. Insecurity, poverty and divisions between those in and out of work increasingly mark the condition of contemporary youth.
