Abstract
Classification is the bedrock of science. Physicists classify subatomic particles into bosons, leptons and quarks. Astronomers arrange celestial bodies into planets, stars, asteroids, comets and many-coloured dwarves. Chemistry has its periodic table and biology its taxonomy of living things. Medicine has systems of diagnosis. The science of defecation has the Bristol Stool Form Scale.
