Abstract
After analysing in detail the characteristics of the credit guarantee systems of the six countries investigated in our survey, we decided to make a comparative analysis and to draw some conclusions, which are not, however, meant to be fully comprehensive. The structure and the organization of the guarantee scheme sector in the countries analyzed are rather heterogeneous as they are the result of growth paths and development models belonging to different social-economic situations (country-specific guarantee systems).
Although the present work is the result of research carried out as a team by both authors, sections 9.1, 9.2 and 9.3 belong to Pasqualina Porretta, whereas sections 9.4 and 9.5 have been written by Paola Leone.
