Abstract

In the previous chapter, we looked at practices of learning for assessment within approaches to blended language learning. Now, we focus on action research because it is critical and collaborative in nature, and therefore aligned with our considerations of purpose, appropriateness, multimodality and sustainability across lessons, programmes and institutions. This chapter describes the action research approach; in particular, we highlight justifications for its use, acknowledge potential blind spots in designing research and describe implementation of collaborative research in teaching teams.
