Abstract

In Chapter 5 we see that the 25 extreme right parties in the 17 party systems in our analysis can be defined according to their strategic-discursive choices and that the conceptual map of extreme right ideology adds to our understanding of the variation in ideological discourse within the party family. Each party occupies a unique position relative to its emphasis of the four ideological pillars, and some parties are located within the same ideological quadrant. This is true of the FN and the MNR in France and the BNP in the Britain. Germany is alone in that all three parties assumed different ideological identities.
