Abstract

This chapter describes the specifics of the conceptual map of extreme right ideology that forms the theoretical framework of this book. We propose a new approach to help us understand the ideological specificities of the extreme right party family. This approach must be systematic and empirical in order to identify both the similarities and differences within the ideological core of this particular party family. Four main theoretical arguments structure our research design, to explain the fundamental importance of our conceptual map in defining the sub-types of parties within the extreme right party family.
