Abstract
Down moments can be times when you lose authority, when you feel burdened, when you live with dark moments or when you feel stuck or beat yourself up. Down moments are a fact of life and often are among our most formative experiences. Often it is down moments that make us the people we are. We have to live with our own frustrations, but sometimes we have to stop beating ourselves up and move on. Living effectively with our down moments is one of the most important requirements for moving on successfully as a leader. Cherishing the way we overcome down moments is a special part of our self-recognition.
