Abstract
Developing and delivering a course in science fiction poses opportunities and challenges, particularly to the lecturer or instructor undertaking such a venture for the first time. Accordingly, this chapter addresses some of the factors relevant to the construction of a science fiction course whilst offering practical guidance on syllabus structure, modes of teaching and possible forms of assessment. It is not, in any way, intended to be prescriptive. Rather, it highlights a number of approaches and strategies valued by the contributors to the current volume.
