Abstract
On 3 and 4 October 1941, bombers attacked Oakington RAF Wellington base; victims were rushed to Addenbrooke’s hospital in Cambridge. When attended to, he was dying: Wittgenstein’s principal amanuensis and closest friend — Francis Skinner — died on 11 October 1941.
