Abstract

Grenada became an independent nation within the Commonwealth on 7 Feb. 1974. Grenada was formerly an Associated State under the West Indies Act, 1967. Independence followed a Constitutional conference held in London in May 1973. Grenada became a member of the UNO on 17 Sept. 1974.
