Frederik IX, born 11 March 1899; married 24 May 1935 to Princess Ingrid of Sweden, born 28 March 1910; offspring: Princess Margrethe, born 16 April 1940 (heir presumptive) ; Princess Benedikte, born 29 April 1944; Princess Anne-Marie, born 30 Aug. 1946. He succeeded to the throne on the death of his father, King Christian X, 20 April 1947.
