Charles XV., King of Sweden and Norway, born Slay 3, 1826, the son of King Oscar I. and of Queen Josephine, daughter of Prince Eugene of Leuclitenberg. In consequence of the prolonged illness of his father, appointed Prince Regent of Sweden and Norway by royal decree, September 25, 1857.
