Abstract
Neither Schleiermacher’s turn to the self nor Barth’s turn to the divine Other succeeds in transcending the confines of the Christian situation. In this chapter we examine how a third approach fares: George Lindbeck’s postliberal turn to the texts and tradition of the Church.
