Abstract
Hopefully, after reading this volume, it will be apparent that sexuality is a pivotal point of organization for educators and activists. Sexuality impacts everyone of every background. Far from being an irrelevant or simply a personal construct, issues impacting the family (health care, education, reproductive rights, workplace inequality, sexual harassment, homophobia) affect all workers in tandem with race and gender. If Marxists do not grapple with sexuality and the family, socialism will not succeed, as was shown in the early 1900s after the Russian Revolution. There, the unevenness and expense of socializing domestic labor was a hard lesson to learn. With our overabundance of material goods, scarcity doesn’t have to be the logical outcome of socialism.
