Abstract

The purpose of this chapter is to study the evolutions of Islamism in the Levant over the past decade. It aims at depicting the behavior of the various categories of Islamist actors and the struggle among regional powers—Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia—for control over the overall orientation of Islamism in the Middle East.
