Abstract

This book has been a collection of perspectives on strategic thinking from the vantage point of practitioners who devise, implement and manage strategies from inception to tactical execution. They have discussed the process of strategy development and its transition from a set of often isolated or closed planning tasks performed by an elite group to a more dynamic suite of activities, which engages people and their inherent abilities to think strategically. In the opening years of the twenty-first century we find this transition from traditional strategic planning to the new multi-operational cross-cultural process is by no means complete.
