Abstract

The chapter addresses a collision of different policies and strategies initiated, pursued and implemented by EU member states towards Ukraine as a co-host of the UEFA 2012 Cup. Two countries are of particular interest for this study—Poland, as the co-organizer of this mega-event, and Germany, as the most powerful European country that engaged most actively with Ukraine on many policy lines.
