Abstract
This chapter offers concluding remarks, tying together the research on demand and supply with an analytical framework that considers the constitutive function of a number of complex and interdependent processes, structures and spaces. This highlights the multilayered and often contradictory nature of the online trade in illicit medicines. Studying the actor’s involved, their networks and illicit practices, often blurs the distinctions between various concepts: political economy and culture; legality and illegality; online and offline; and global and local. It is argued that an analysis of the trade must be positioned in a critical discussion of late-modern capitalist dynamics and processes of accumulation.
