The Nonconclusion: Trans*ing Education into the Future—This Cannot Wait
Miller synthesizes prior chapters and reviews suggestions for systemic changes that affirm, enhance, and recognize the identities of trans* and gender creative youth, and which can mediate personal, educational, and social legitimacy. This chapter concludes with recommendations about the urgency for research about how teacher education, school districts, professional development, curriculum specialists, community organizations, families, and policy makers must come together to support the psychosocial and emotional needs of trans* and gender creative youth. Miller finalizes these recommendations by introducing what a proleptic trans*/post trans* schooling system could look like, and how that can potentially change humanity.
