Abstract
This chapter examines the Memorial del 68, a museum that opened in 2007 and houses a series of interviews/testimonios by those that actively participated in the events of 1968. The Memorial functions as a space of remembrance that embodies the slogan “El 68 no se olvida,” while it simultaneously opens the door to a wider set of arguments in relation to Tlatelolco’s legacy. While the museum portion of the Memorial appears to follow the same discursive line employed by the CNH, the testimonios offer a more complex notion of exactly who can be considered a participant in the events and provides a space through which others can add to, amend, or expand the discourse of 1968.
