Abstract

This chapter is the first chapter in the case study section of the book. It shares stories of female entrepreneurs from Hangzhou and its environs. In it, the entrepreneurs revealed how they acquired the information that they needed to open, operate, and expand their businesses. In so doing, the chapter offers a snapshot of how women’s entrepreneurships represent a relatively new and powerful arm of capitalism that contributes to the country’s economic prowess.
