Abstract

With Ed Ricketts, Carol, and a crew of men, Steinbeck writes the narrative for the six weeks doing marine exploration in the Gulf of California—the Sea of Cortez. Fascinated by Mexico and its people, Steinbeck later goes to Mexico to film his movie The Forgotten Village.
