Abstract

This chapter gives an overall introduction to the aim, structure and contribution of the whole book and, more importantly, this chapter will focus on summarizing the key findings with regard to the efficiencies of Chinese commercial banks, the competitive conditions in the Chinese banking industry and also the impact of competition on the efficiency of Chinese commercial banks. Through the findings, this chapter will also provide some implications to the Chinese government as well as banking regulatory authorities to make relevant policies to improve efficiency in the Chinese banking industry. Finally, this chapter will briefly discuss the limitations of the current book and point out the potentials for future studies.
