The Palgrave Handbook of Workers’ Participation at Plant Level

Abstract

In the last chapter, the editors summarize the findings of the volume and draw some general comparative conclusions from the presented chapters. The first aspect which the editors focus on is the argument that history matters, as a crucial precondition to understand the contemporary workings of workers’ representation at plant level. In the second part, the continuities and shifts in national models of workers’ participation are put in a comparative perspective to illustrate how diversified the landscape of workers’ representation at plant level was, is, and continues to be. The last part of the chapter concludes by making some observations regarding the future of models of workers’ representation at plant level.
