Abstract
Florenz Ziegfeld, Jr. (1867–1932) in many ways epitomizes the early twentieth-century Broadway producer. He was perhaps most famous for his series of extravagant and spectacular revues, the Follies. Ziegfeld assembled an extraordinary creative team, including composers such as Irving Berlin, and was able to present and market his carefully chosen talent, especially the glorified Ziegfeld Girls, to tremendous success.
