Abstract

In their final chapter, Knapp and Hulbert describe ghostwriting in a diverse array of contexts, all of which may be more personal for the audience. First, they explore the use of ghostwriters by religious leaders to compose sermons or for other communications. Next, they describe the ways in which individuals use ghostwriters in romantic communications, exploring the range of services—from dating profiles to personal communications—offered by writers. Finally, the authors examine the roles of ghosts in entertainment, including social media, rap music, classical music, and the visual arts. The authors conclude by offering reflections on the practice of ghostwriting in these personal contexts through the lens of the ethical framework introduced in Chap. 1.
