Legal Infrastructure of the DIFC Courts

Abstract
The DIFC (Dubai International Financial Centre) is a financial free zone established by Dubai Law No. 9 of 2004 in a defined area of territory within Dubai. Within that area, DIFC Laws apply and the DIFC Courts have exclusive jurisdiction in civil and commercial cases. Criminal jurisdiction remains with the Dubai Courts, as throughout Dubai.
