Gender Inequality in the Legal Practice

  • Amanda K. Baumle

Abstract

Throughout this book, I examine both the manner in which community members respond to claims of discrimination made in the online community, as well as the means they propose to redress discrimination. Before exploring the means by which the community can assist in the development of disputes, however, a picture must be painted of the types of discriminatory behaviors faced by women and why they should be challenged. This chapter undertakes this task, examining findings from past research1 that reveal the opposition women attorneys face to full entry into the legal practice.
