Common Goods Theory and Analytical Framework

  • Katharina Holzinger

Abstract

This chapter gives an overview of theories of common goods and of the related empirical research. The theoretical literature originated and is still largely produced in economics; however, there has been considerable experimental and field research done by economists and social and political scientists. The basic economic concepts and the results of empirical approaches are presented in sections 2.1 and 2.2.
