Tatar Renaissance in the Context of Eurasian Civilisation

  • M. H. Khasanov

Abstract

The unique medieval phenomenon known as the Renaissance ranks particularly high in world history. The Renaissance brought cardinal changes to civilisation and showed the way to future development. It is no exaggeration to say that modern global culture in a broad sense sprang from the Renaissance, a very widespread phenomenon that exceeded the limits of separate national cultures. But at the same time we must not forget that the European Renaissance evolved from the revival of separate national cultures and gave birth to European nations, their languages and sovereign states.
