Aesthetics and Kalology
Chapter
Abstract
Goodman finds it sometimes important to point out that his logic of constructing worlds and realities, rather than trying to uncover the alleged true nature of a purported real world, is what guides his thought from its very beginnings. This logic of construction is (as seen above) a logic or reference and not a logic of inference. It is a logic concerned with building symbological universes, bound together through referential relations, and for such communities of individuals for whom these relations hold, or have meaning.
