The Business Environment, Strategy and Performance

Part of the Palgrave Macmillan Asian Business Series Centre for the Study of Emerging Market Series book series (PAMABS)

Abstract

In order to review the effectiveness of a business strategy, this chapter moves on to comparisons of strategic performance when adopting different business strategies in the three selected East Asian countries. Relationships between the perceived business environment, strategic options and strategic performance are explored. The analysis can be described in terms of three aspects. First, it discovered the alignment between the perceived uncertainty and strategic options. Next, it established the relationships between strategies and the associated strategic performance. Then, correlations between the perceived environment and strategic performance were generated.
