The Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) prohibits any nuclear weapon test explosion or any other nuclear explosion anywhere in the world. Drafted at the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva, the Treaty was adopted by the General Assembly on 10 Sept. 1996. As at 26 March 2002, 165 States had signed the CTBT and instruments of ratification have been deposited by 90 States.
