Area, 322,463 sq. km;total population (census, 1975), 6,673,013. The seat of administration and of the court of appeal is at Abidjan (population estimate (1976) 850,000); the office of agriculture, at Bingerville. Other important towns (population estimate, 1974): Bonaké, 200,000; Daloa, 100,000; Man, 100,000.
