Historical Abuse Cases: Why They Expose the Inadequacy of the Real Possibility Test

Abstract
In theory, the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) embodies a new and improved system of identifying and correcting miscarriages of justice. At times, however, it has become bogged down by its own institutional frameworks and operations, which have impacts upon its consistency as to how it conducts its reviews, as exemplified in its reviews of alleged claims of innocence in cases of historical sexual abuse.
