Abstract
This is the second volume to appear of a trilogy of books describing and re-assessing the careers of each of the 51 British Prime Ministers, from Robert Walpole to Tony Blair. The first volume, A Century of Premiers: Salisbury to Blair, was published in 2005; the third, Eighteenth Century British Premiers: Walpole to the Younger Pitt will follow in 2009. The present volume deals with the 20 Premiers who held office during the nineteenth century.
