The Business Model: Products, Clients and Markets

  • Steven I. Davis

Abstract

The starting point for our analysis is an investment bank’s strategy: which clients or sectors are targeted, which products are offered, and in what geographical markets is the bank active. In today’s jargon, it is the business model. This chapter will examine in turn each of these critical dimensions, with a particular focus on the three central product areas of advisory services, equity and debt.
