Abstract
Human rights are not always on the top of the China-EU agenda, but the views and positions of the two sides contrast so much that when conflict arises and intensifies, bilateral political relations inevitably suffer, and sometimes serious setbacks result. To study the conceptual gap on human rights between China and Europe, therefore, would be conducive to the exploration of the origins of the difference between the two sides, which would in turn help to improve our perception towards each other and lay a solid basis for the building up of mutual understanding and common knowledge.
