Abstract

A novel diblock copolymer, consisting of a biocompatible phosphorylcholine block (MPC) and a pH sensitive dimethylamino ethyl block (DMA), denoted as MPC30DMA60, shows interesting properties of surface adsorption and solution aggregation. These features have been exploited to condense DNA into nanoaggregates in bulk solution and to immobilise DNA onto a substrate surface. These molecular manipulations may find their applications in controlled release and bionanotechnology.
