Abstract

A short review is presented of some current problems in the physical chemistry of disperse systems. The role of surface forces and the way in which knowledge about them can be used to rationalise the many phenomena which constitute Colloid Chemistry is discussed. Following, a critical appraisal of some current areas of research, an attempt is made to high-light some possible areas for future investigation.
