Abstract
During t he process of polymers crystallization from dilute solution, the polymer chains are adsorbed on the crystal growth faces and their configurations prior to crystallization are then changed. Following the De Gennes analysis it is shown that this process leads to segregation effect; chains shorter than M* do not crystallize. The critical mass M* varies with the supercooling ΔT as M*=ΔT −2, as was found experimentally by Wunderlich.
