Abstract

The specular reflection of neutrons is now becoming an established technique for the study of surfaces and interfaces. A discussion of the experimental requirements is presented, and particular emphasis on the advantages for the study of problems in surface chemistry is included. A description of the reflectometer, CRISP, on the pulsed neutron source ISIS is given. Recent experimental results on the adsorption of mixed surfactants at the air-water interface are described.
