Abstract
The dynamics of the main phase transition in unilamellar vesicles of DPPC have been investigated using the „Iodine-Laser Temperature-Jump“ technique with turbidity as detection parameter. As a result we could observe 5 well separated relaxation processes between 4 ns and 10 ms. The analysis of the three processes between 5 μs and 10 ms showed a critical slowing down of the relaxation processes which represent the phase transition. This behaviour can be treated using a theory of critical phenomena.
