  15. At temperatures T < TC higher levels of the individual anharmonic oscillators become comparable with or smaller than |J| and the two-level approximation breaks down. Our results for T < TC are therefore only valid if T is not too low.

  16. The temperature range where ζ⊥ > d⊥ has not been treated properly since we have applied to Hs the MF-approximation. Accurate results for the ground state properties of a 2-D quadratic Ising model in a transverse field have been obtained by Pfeuty,P., Elliott,R.J.: J.Phys.C.: Solid St.Phys.4, 2370 (1971). The critical transverse field was found to be Γ = 1.57|J|, corresponding to U ζ |Tc = 0.79.
