Abstract

We consider SO(N) and SU(N) σ-models in the case of finite N and N→∞. In the finite-component case, we propose certain set of instanton and elliptic-instanton solutions.

The results given here are part of Colloquium lecture given on October 16, 1978 at the Department of Mathematics and Physics at Yale University.
